ike & Max is a whimsical, episodic buddy-adventure comic set on the vibrant, richly diverse planet of Veridia. The story follows Mike, a chill, easily distracted 15-year-old explorer with gravity-defying white hair, and Max, his wise-cracking, teddy bear-like alien companion who hides sharp retractable claws. Together, they have a knack for turning mundane chores and everyday post-school boredom into increasingly elaborate, chaotic escapades.
The narrative recently took a dramatic turn when an escalating high school dodgeball feud with Mike's rival, Jeremy, accidentally triggered a reality-altering energy surge. Trapped in a high-stakes, dimension-hopping conflict across erratic environments, Mike and Jeremy have been forced into a tense, temporary truce. Moving forward, the goal is to explore the deep-seated history and emotional weight between these former childhood classmates, while Max and Mike's fiercely protective mother embark on a frantic, high-tech rescue mission across the cosmos to bring the boys home.
